The level design including the puzzle gameplay is 50% complete at this point. The player will now advance further into hell with this map, which will now reflect the hellish environment more clearly.

At the same time, the code was further optimized to prevent future bugs as much as possible.
Bugfixes: Based on the bug list of the playtest, all bugs found by our QA were fixed. A sound test, for example, checks whether the sound slider for effects in the menu also affects the corresponding sound effects (for example, a fire) in the game. A collision test, for example, checks whether the character is blocked by certain objects. In addition to gameplay tests, our QA also performed collision tests and sound tests, just to name a few. Playtest: This month we took a lot of time to test the content so far. Voice Actor Session: this month our voice actress was busy again and recorded all missing voice overs in another recording session for our main character Mia. The intro took some time here, as the player falls from the sky into the new map, giving an impression of the remaining levels of the game from a long distance. These have now been completed and implemented. 3D Modeling & Animation: for the remaining puzzles some 3D models and animations were still missing. Based on these tests, the 4 puzzles of the map were optimized and found bugs were fixed. Quality Assurance Tests: Also this month our QA has had a lot to do with extensively testing the further implemented puzzles and finding possible bugs. There the player will have to solve another mini puzzle to reach the next level "Endless Manor" (working title). All 4 puzzles are completely different and must be solved in order to advance to another smaller area within the map. With a total of 4 puzzles awaiting the player in this level, this map is the largest in the entire game so far.
Completion of the map "Staring Woods": As expected, we still needed the whole month of April to complete the new map.These have now been fixed by moving all the lighting for each level out into more sub-levels and we only load the lighting of those sub-levels when it is needed. Lighting revised: Since you can play through the whole game in one flow and without loading screens, there were problems with the lighting calculation in some places.One of them is an animation of a ritual that the player has to perform in order to advance in the level. 3D Modeling & Animation: Besides some new assets created for this map, new animations found their way into the game as well.The performance problems have also been completely fixed. Based on these tests, the map layout was completely reworked and improved. It turned out that the new map was a bit too small and a new gameplay mechanic had a strong impact on performance. Quality assurance & gameplay tests: The new map was extensively tested for potential bugs, gameplay issues, and performance.The sound design, along with the other infernal assets and creatures, still creates an oppressive and terrifying feeling in this somewhat lighter environment.
The many corridors hold some surprises for the player and are designed to change dynamically depending on how the player is moving. New map "Endless Manor" 90% complete: In Endless Manor, the player enters an old manor house that is haunted by some restless souls.
